Club Stories

This page was an idea from Andy Thornton who informed the club that this year him and both his sons are playing in the same number shirts.

It's Horse Play at the Rodaway

Kick off delayed by horse on the pitch!

Under 11C turned up for their 12 o’clock kick off at home to Hordle Spurs in the Hampshire Cup only to find a rather large grey horse tethered on the right wing of pitch 4!

Our visitors from the New Forest felt quite at home and were impressed that the pitch had been mown in circles!

After finally locating the owners who came and relocated the beast to the correct side of the touchline, and moving what horses do best from the pitch we were able to kick off at 12.15.

In a very exciting game we lost 4 -2 to 2 last minute goals

Eagles First to Win Silver Ware for 2009/2010

Colden Common Tournament 2009
Hedge End Eagles U9 won their group gaining all 12 points available. They went on to play Colden Common C in the final. After a shaky start, they took control of the game and went into half time 2-0 up. A 3rd goal in the second half sealed the win with the final result being 3-0 to Hedge End Eagles. After a long 'non competitive' U8 season, everyone was delighted with the boys winning their first 'competitive' competition. A great start to the new season.

3's a Crowd

As my 2 sons reached their respective ages of  7years old they were keen to seek and be involved in local football, both found mini soccer teams through the Ken Deacon Soccer school and HER Football club.

We have a big group of friends formed via the club and the boys really enjoy their football, joining Wildern School does not seem such a terrifying thought as they recognised so many faces around the playground, they both remain and play Tyro league looking forward to the new season.

I myself have helped coach both my boys over the past 7 years alongside some great Managers and now play for the Vets side, strangely both my sons and I have been allocated the No.15 shirt this season"
